This evening in my Keuka College Criminal Justice class at Damon Center in the Sibley building we had a heated, high emotional discussion regarding the untold truths about policing procedures and the laws justifying the killing of a citizen.
On the possible eve of the Ferguson decision, I asked the group how the grand jury would rule. The verdict was unanimous. 8 – 0 for no charges. And the effect on Rochester? As Justin Bray said, “it is too cold for riots, but you are going to see people in the streets.” As bad as Rodney King. Maybe. As bad as Trayvon Martin. Maybe.
I’ll let you know next week
